Your Role:

We are seeking a Finance Manager of our exciting VC backed business that understands that ecological and economic decisions can go hand in hand and are equally important. We need you to provide financial support across all aspects of the finance function in order to ensure that internal and external reporting deadlines are met. We are wanting to attract someone that has the classic training in numbers, economics and accounting, but thinks differently. This is to help us lead by example and build a carbon negative business of the future that is ecologically impactful and economically profitable.

The role will involve management and reporting of budgets, creation of management accounts and creating reports for board meetings, helping inform our forward-looking strategies and decision making. You will also be integral to production modelling for our production partners, working with our management team and potential production partners.

Core responsibilities include:

• To manage all aspects of finance administration in line with the company’s policies and procedures
• To manage the monthly payroll for employees ensuring that salaries and pensions are correctly paid on time
• To manage the tracking of expenditure against grant funded projects to ensure that the correct and complete information is available to meet the timescale needed for grant claims
• To prepare monthly accounts and other financial reports as required
• To prepare VAT returns and reports for R&D tax credits as required
• To prepare the annual budget along with MD
• To maintain a cash flow forecast reflecting the latest information in the company
• Other tasks as required to support the smooth running of the company

The successful new Finance Manager will help us account for carbon in a transparent way though our own business activities and help model this for other production partners using the models and tools that we have developed. This is an exciting area of growth for our business and we are excited to lead the way in this field.

Who are you?

• You have formal accounting qualifications and 5 years experience in industry
• You are proficient in using Xero and Microsoft suite

• You have experience of reporting into a Board of Directors
• You want to make a positive impact using your accountancy training and background to be part of a change making team
