Dan is a chartered mechanical engineer, motivated by innovation that helps fight climate change. Before Adaptavate, Dan built production lines for Concrete Canvas, inventing, running complex projects and bringing the market their new CCX range of cement impregnated geofabrics.
At Adaptavate, Dan is leading the design, build and operation of the new Breathaboard Pilot Line, bringing machine building and process R&D in-house for efficient, lean and fast progress. This converts the years of fruitful and innovative research from the rest of the team into quality, full-sized boards for commercial trials and testing.
Dan has been motivated in engineering for the environment from a young age, studying for a master’s degree in Sustainable Energy and putting this to practical use over lockdown by working with his family to design and self-build a timber-framed Passivhaus in Herefordshire, which was filmed for Grand Designs.
When not covered in plaster in the lab, Dan can be found road cycling, wild swimming and tinkering on a variety of personal engineering projects, plus exploring Bristol, which he has recently made his home.
