Our technology

Adaptavate’s patented core technology is a platform of formulations and industrial processes to make carbon-negative and low-carbon construction products, with initial focus on the wallboard category. This starts with Breathaboard, a drop in product alternative to plasterboard, one of the most used building materials in the world.

Our core technology enables CO2 savings through product formulations and production processes. We use fibrous and cellulosic waste and bind it with minerals and small amounts of water to form a flat board material. Unlike other boards, our production process requires no burning of natural gas, and it absorbs low concentration CO2 - potentially from three different sources in the industrial curing process.

World’s first pilot line to produce Breathaboard

The scalability of Adaptavate’s technology confirmed

We have commissioned a world first: a pilot line and labs to prove the industrialisation of our Core Technology and its global scalability. Adaptavate’s pilot line produces Breathaboard in a continuous, integrated and scalable process. Breathaboard is a bio-based, carbon sequestering alternative to plasterboard that can save approximately 4kg of CO2/m2 in a market of around 13bn m2.

It is not just formulations and products that lead to carbon-negative materials on a global scale. Our focus is to lead the carbon change in construction so we are creating the necessary industrial processes to scale our Carbon Capture and Utilisation technology and carbon-negative products.

Adaptavate has a platform that can use variable waste inputs; ideal for construction product manufacturers needing solutions for their different markets around the world. We licence our technology, working with global construction product manufacturers to maximise our impact, addressing the climate emergency urgently and effectively. Partnerships and collaboration unlock ecological and economic impact for all.

The carbon revolution creates a carbon industrial ecosystem that readdresses waste streams, inputs and outputs. It doesn’t simply take finite resources, emit CO2 and spew out profits. Instead, it takes less, absorbs CO2 and puts back what it takes.
