Usman has a PhD in chemical engineering with a strong background in research and development. Prior to joining Adaptavate, Usman worked for several years in both academia and industry, specialising in areas such as alternative raw materials with low impact, carbon capture, desulphurisation, and solvent characterisation. Additionally, he also has experience in project management, and health, safety, and environment (HSE) with a major EPC firm. Most recently, he was a part of the award-winning ERDF project ARLI (Alternative Raw materials with Low Impact) at the University of Birmingham.
At Adaptavate, Usman’s primary focus is optimising and scaling up the carbonisation process of Breathaboard, contributing to the company’s mission of creating sustainable construction materials.
Outside of work, Usman cherishes the time spent with his children and takes pleasure in following the cricket.
