Owen comes from a broad background in sustainability and renewable energy across both the public and private sectors. Having worked in project management, sales, customer services and several support roles, Owen is well placed to tackle the varied world of product management. Sustainable design and high-quality architecture have always been a real interest for Owen – however a further appreciation for the ‘fabric-first’ approach was sparked in 2016 after attending a lecture given by Tom at the Centre for Alternative Technology (CAT). This convinced Owen to join Adaptavate and focus on building using high performance, low impact materials from the outset, rather than relying on bolt-on renewable energy devices.
Since then, Owen has been a valuable member of the Adaptavate team, making Breathaboard and Breathaplasta for the company’s very first commercial project in the summer of 2016 before becoming the Product Manager for Breathaplasta later that year. This key role combines the technical, operational, and commercial sides of the business to maintain the high quality of our products, along with providing a first-class experience for our customers.
When not product managing, Owen can usually be found either on, or under the water, swimming, kayaking, scuba diving or occasionally attempting to surf. He also likes taking his dog for long walks in the countryside, so long as there’s a good pub at the end!
