We are achieving significant growth as the market more widely adopts our solutions and in order to reach these goals, we need a Head of Sales to join our growing senior management team in facilitating this growth through increased customer sales, strategic planning, team management and industry networking.

You and the role

Our Head of Sales will balance a leadership position with a tactical customer focused role. You will create a strategic environment to deliver results, through great team and goal management combined with being out on the road; meeting and educating our customers about our high-quality, breathable construction products. You are driven by continuous improvement and will use your construction industry commercial acumen to meet the needs of both internal and external customers.  

You will lead, manage and collaborate with the growing sales department for our Breathaplasta product range, working with our team to deliver commercial success. For the right candidate, this role could develop to incorporate our Breathaboard products as they come to the market in the next 2-3 years.

You are a people-oriented, strategic planner who thrives on rolling their sleeves up and getting stuck in. You are motivated by meeting and beating your KPIs in sales and business development whilst supporting your team to achieve their best. The idea of being a pioneer and integral member of a friendly, high achieving and awesome team is what gets you going.

This critical leadership role will require you to leverage your construction sales experience and customer relationships in a cutting edge, fast-paced environment. Your knowledge of customer, products, market position and sales data analysis is paramount in delivering year on year success.

You have built a career in construction through merchant and contractor led sales.  You are motivated by delivering a transformation in a conservative, construction industry through your key role in a disruptive company.

Role requirements and responsibilities

Management and Strategy focused - You will be able to demonstrate an ability and track record of:

  • Working with the CEO and existing Breathaplasta team, you will define and implement our sales strategy. This will include developing forecasts and managing plans to achieve audacious growth to meet ambitious targets and overall business goals

  • Strong leadership and supportive team management, with a passion to translate and share your vision with others to help them succeed and achieve – we know that great communication builds great teams (we are very proud of the one we have)

  • Clear alignment with business objectives, identifying relevant KPIs and performance measures whilst maintaining accountability through accurate analysis, communication and reporting.

  • Collaborating with our Head of Marketing to build a targeted and effective campaign calendar – ensuring that Adaptavate is in the right place, at the right time, promoting the right products

Sales and industry focused - You will be able to demonstrate an ability and track record of:

  • Experience and contacts within the construction industry and merchant sector. Direct experience of selling into and collaborating with national, regional and independent merchants is essential.

  • Proven experience of selling to and collaborating with UK contractors – including Tier 1 contractors, particularly in the areas of plastering, rendering and internal fit out.

  • Growing our active distribution network through national merchant buying groups, merchants and contractors to drive awareness (and sales) industry wide.

  • Influencing and fostering relationships with new and existing industry stakeholders including key decision makers within: architecture, housing associations, contractors, distributors and merchants.

  • Effective management of our CRM system to monitor, report and inform on strategy, team activities, performance and decisions.

  • Highly proficient in M365 applications
