Who are we?

Adaptavate is a business of the future, a dynamic team of engineers, thinkers, parents, walkers, traders, dreamers, climbers, scientists, gardeners, friends, family and visionaries. People who think differently to make a big impact through our work… together.

We are answering the urgent call to decarbonise construction globally, by developing the low carbon and carbon-negative technologies and products needed, and the industrial ecosystem to deploy them fast, anywhere in the world.

To succeed in our mission, we are looking for a Production Manufacturing Engineer who will play a key role in developing, optimising, and maintaining Adaptavate’s production processes and pilot manufacturing systems. You will be instrumental in transitioning from pilot-scale to commercial manufacturing, improving automation systems, and embedding lean principles to deliver high quality, carbon-negative products at scale.

This position will work within the Production & Compliance team.

Your Role

This role will include, but is not limited to:

  • Lead and support day-to-day manufacturing operations, ensuring efficient workflow, high quality, and adherence to safety standards.

  • Ensure compliance with Adaptavate’s Health & Safety and Quality Management Plans.

  • Maintain accurate records of production data, yields, and performance metrics

  • Optimise production processes for performance, reliability, and cost efficiency.

  • Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives using Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.

  • Support the development and implementation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure consistency and repeatability.

  • Work with R&D and Technical teams to scale up new processes and product variants from lab to pilot to commercial scale.

  • Support maintenance planning and execution for production equipment, ensuring uptime and reliability.

  • Conduct fault diagnosis (mechanical, electrical, or controls) and implement corrective and preventive actions.

  • Oversee or support calibration, inspection, and housekeeping to ensure a “world-class” workshop environment.

  • Act as the “first point of contact” in the workshop between Production, Engineering, and Operations.

  • Mentor and support technicians, apprentices, and junior engineers.

  • Promote cross-functional collaboration between manufacturing, quality, and product development teams.

Our Production Supervisor will

  • Hold a degree or equivalent experience in Manufacturing, Mechanical or Electrical engineering

  • Be experienced in a production or manufacturing environment, eg. construction, food, chemical products

  • Demonstrate a proven ability to work with production machinery and automation systems

  • Bring hands on experience in fault finding, maintenance and process troubleshooting, ensuring reliable and efficient operations

  • Possess excellent organisational and communication skills, enabling effective collaboration across multi-disciplinary teams and clear reporting of technical findings.

You may:

  • Have experience with PLC programming, industrial automation and control systems

  • Have an understanding of Quality Management Systems and material traceability processes

  • Bring experience working in sustainability focussed manufacturing environments or with innovative materials

  • Have contributed to process scale up projects, supporting the transition from pilot to commercial production
