Adaptavate’s transformational year: Scaling regenerative and carbon-negative construction products

The UK-born company prepares for a Series A round in 2026 to enable global deployment of its patented technology and products

BRISTOL, UK, December 2025. From validating its technology and products to being backed by global built environment players such as British Land and Kajima, 2025 has solidified Adaptavate’s position as a leader in regenerative construction. Over the last 12 months, the company has made significant advancements in technology, commercial partnerships, and market penetration, setting the right path for a Series A round in 2026 to enable global deployment of its solutions to decarbonise the built environment.

Adaptavate was born to make construction a force for planetary regeneration, building an industry of good ancestors. Tom Robinson, CEO and founder of Adaptavate, wanted construction to be part of the solution, not the problem, in the collective endeavour to fight climate change and leave a sustainable world for future generations.

On that note, Adaptavate has spent several years building a patented technology platform which combines deep know-how, proprietary formulations and processes, and machine learning to globally scale drop-in construction products which are regenerative, carbon-negative, and high-performance.

2025 Highlights: 12 months, 12 milestones

  1. Meeting industry standards. Breathaboard, Adaptavate’s revolutionary alternative to wallboard was confirmed to be EN 520-comparable - with superior performance in areas like strength requirement, acoustics, and thermal conductivity.

  2. First large commercial project trial. Breathaboard was trialled in a large commercial site, at 1 Triton Square London, in partnership with British Land, Overbury and Royal London Asset Management.

  3. Pre-series A investment round. The company secured £2.7 million at a challenging time in the funding environment, to accelerate the global scalability of its technologies and products. With support from Undivided Ventures, Adaptavate fast-tracked its first engagement in South and East Asia, including participation in BEX Asia 2025, a world-leading built environment event.

  4. Partnership with SigmaRoc. An agreement to establish a strong resilient supply chain for the industrial scalability of Adaptavate’s technology as well as a commitment to explore the production and distribution of Adaptavate’s products across Europe.

  5. Partnership with Jewson. A nationwide distribution deal to bring Adaptavate’s Breathaplasta products closer to builders across Jewson branches in the UK.

  6. Launch of The Adaptavate Tribe. An online community for built environment professionals committed to sustainable change.

  7. Team’s growth. Expansion of the team to support the next phase of growth, including experts in engineering, technology licensing and scaling, and global partnerships.

  8. Selected for The Gear Startup CoLab Programme by Kajima, Singapore. An initiative that identifies innovators tackling the most pressing challenges of the built environment to fast-track the development and commercialisation of their breakthrough solutions. This will start with a product trial at The Gear building in Singapore, in Q1 2026.

  9. Strengthening its patent portfolio and trademarks. Adaptavate’s technology platform is currently protected by eight patent families, and its global brand is protected by two new trademarks established on a global basis - one for the company name, Adaptavate, and one for their icon.

  10. Highly commended in the 2025 Wates Group Financial Services Sustainable Technology Competition. A competition aimed at boosting green tech with the support of Lloyds Banking Group, NatWest Group, Coventry Building Society, Skipton Building Society and Leeds Building Society (all members of the Sustainable Business Consortium).

  11. Semi-finalist at the Cityscape Innovation Challenge 2025. An excellent opportunity to introduce Adaptavate to the Middle East market as well as start building the company’s network there.

  12. Great advancement on Adaptavate’s carbon-negative technology! Higher carbon removal and excess of renewable energy generated. Stay tuned!

Adaptavate’s pioneering technology platform delivers products that reduce or even remove CO2 emissions; are made with renewable local feedstocks; are compostable; installed in the same way and have superior health benefits.

ABOUT ADAPTAVATE

Adaptavate is answering the urgent call to decarbonise construction, by developing the carbon-negative technologies and products needed, and the industrial ecosystem to deploy them fast, anywhere in the world. To deliver this, the business is focusing on commercialising its patented, scalable Carbon Capture and Utilisation (CCU) and Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) processes. These processes enable the production of low carbon and carbon-negative construction products including Adaptavate’s flagship, Breathaboard. By licencing its technology, the business facilitates the manufacture of these market-alternative products by anyone, anywhere, resulting in significant carbon removal on a global scale. It is this ‘planet before profit’ model that keeps Adaptavate true to its purpose of building an ecologically regenerative and economically profitable future for all.
