Equipment required

Clean water and brush or mister
Hawk, trowel and plastering tools

Recommended plaster thickness

Each coat should be between 2-10 mm thick.
Up to 20mm max per day.
Up to 50mm max total thickness.

Coverage per 18kg Universal bag

Approx. 5 square metres at 4mm thickness

Setting time per coat

Approximately 45-60 minutes.

Surface preparation

Consolidate the wall to ensure no loose material. Dub out the masonry if needed - fill holes and level off. Surface should be uniformly flat.

Mist the surface of the masonry 10-15 mins before plaster application to help control suction.

Recommended plaster application

  1. Mix Universal to approx. 8 litres of clean water per 18kg bag of dry powder used.

  2. Mix the plaster using a paddle mix for approx. 3 minutes.

  3. Base coat/scratch coat of Universal up to 10mm.

  4. Additional coats up to 10mm thick, up to 20mm max per day. Up to 50mm max total thickness.

  5. Top coat approx. 2-4mm. Run a clean trowel over the surface of the plaster for a smooth finish. Use a sponge float for more textured finishes.

  6. For a smooth finish, moisten the top coat using a fine mist spray bottle to help polish the surface with trowel.
